The
Abaris Club of Guilford is spearheading a community-wide fundraising effort to
replace worn out and unsafe equipment at the Don Osborne Memorial Playground on
Water Street.
The
need for this project is obvious. The
existing playground was installed nearly 25 years ago and the pressure-treated
wooden structures are rotten, splintered, and unsafe.
The playground committee, consisting of representatives from the Kiwanis Club, 4-Winds Snowmobile Club, Guilford Fire Department, Guilford Center Grange, American Legion Auxiliary, Boy Scouts, and town officials is actively involved in this worthwhile project for the youth of the greater S.A.D. #4 area.
Game
Time, a nationally recognized manufacturer of playground equipment, has worked
with the committee to design a new playground with equipment that will be safe,
colorful, durable, and fun for all children using the recreational area. The centerpiece of the new playground will
be an exciting Rockscape design with an array of climbers, slides, and overhead
equipment.
Game
Time equipment conforms to all safety specifications and meets all
accessibility requirements for physically challenged children. This playground equipment is developed with
the aim of educating, challenging, stimulating and entertaining the children
who utilize it.
We
ask that you join with the Abaris Club along with many other local residents
and organizations in making a donation to this cause as an investment in the
enrichment of our children. Every
donation helps, so we hope that you will be as generous as you can. Please send your tax-deductible gift to
